We have very exiting news: in December 2019, the Government of Botswana moved to provide HIV care and medication to all. This includes both citizens, who were previously covered, as well as the large number of non-citizens living in Botswana.

Thanks to our volunteers across a variety of areas of expertise, we are able to see and provide care to all of these patients. We were particularly excited about getting several people onto HIV treatment for the first time, as well as working to prevent several babies from being born with HIV.

Thankfully, several volunteers with different areas of expertise were there to see and provide care for the children, parents, and pregnant women that stopped by. Perhaps our most exciting news this time around was that we confirmed that two babies tested HIV negative!
We are thrilled to report that we saw four negative HIV tests in children under two years old. We also have several babies who are due to be born soon, with all moms-to-be doing well. One of these ladies named Aneni came in with a particularly large tummy, and we found out that she is actually expecting twins! Hopefully because of the treatment provided, their babies will also be born HIV negative.
